Our Mission
Katelyn Kearns is a historical dressmaker, patternmaker, and YouTuber. Specializing in mid 19th-century clothing and textiles, Katelyn recreates period-accurate garments and curates a personal collection of original 19th-century pieces for study purposes. With experience working in museums, Katelyn combines expert craftsmanship, research, and historical preservation to share the elegance of the era with a growing online and in person community.
Research Areas
Katelyn’s main area of focus in rural and southern women between the years of 1830 and 1870 although as a living historian, she has done 1810-1945. Her main focus is day-to-day life and living for women during her chosen time frame. As such, she has a great interest in sewing, cooking, housekeeping, child rearing, etc.
